Catholic friends: Which version of the Bible do you prefer, and why?

I still have a translation of the Douay version given to me when I started at a Catholic Grammar School run by Delasalle Brothers (in the days before comprehensive schools). I now mostly read the New English version, being closer to modern English, and sometimes the King James version.
