Visiting Sedona AZ and Jerome AZ From Phoeniex AZ?

Me and my future girlfriend ;) are visiting sedona and what she doesnt know is that we are going to jerome as well, i want her to have a good time, what would be better coming from phoenix, we are planning on leaving around 8am we are spending a whole day, what should we do go to jerome in the morning then sedona or sedona and on the way back jerome also what are some cool things to do in those places it would be our first time going.. i love this girl lol please help
