Am i pushing my horse too much?

i jump my 18yo TB gelding once/twice a week up to a MAX of 1meter (he does it no bother), then someone made a comment to me that im not being fair on him, obviosly i dont want him to come to any harm but he is 1000% FULL OF LIFE so can someone please tell me am i pushing him too much for his age or is this ok??// i ve owned him for 8months and spoke to his previous owner who owned him for 10 years and she said he is fine to do it so can someone please give me advice?
